Associate a [b:8355fa4d79]"save-path"[/b:8355fa4d79] with the extension of downloaded files. I´d like to suggest a ten-million-dollar-feature for free: when downloading a file I´d like to see a button like "use standard directory for this file type".
E.g. when I download mp3-files I usually save them in one folder and move them later, because I´m not sure, if I will like them or not. Same goes for images, pdf-files, etc.
So it would be very handy to associate file types with a default-download folder. This could exist parallel to the current method. It´s just one more button in the save-file-dialog.

If you are not going to rename the file also, that is already possible. Go to Preferences, Advanced, Downloads. Uncheck the box at the top "Hide file types opened with Opera", then search for the types you want. Select each in turn, click Edit, click "Do not ask for folder, but save directly to ..." and set the path to the desired folder in the box there. Without any other changes, whenever you right-click and choose Save target as ... it will automatically save it to the listed folder. If you also want Opera to save the file automatically when you left-click you can also set that in the dialog there.
If you want to be allowed to change the name and still have a default folder - you're right, Opera doesn't do that currently.

It doesn' matter if you left-click it or choose Save target as... from right-click menu. It does exactly that same. It will will be saved to the predefined folder without asking.
Permalink I like this suggestion! It's not a "suggestion" anymore. It's reality! You can do that already. Read the post of sgunhouse

The suggestion as given was for a separate "Save to default folder" option, maybe while still being able to edit the name. It is a valid suggestion.

Oh, I've set JPEG files so that if I save them, they get saved directly to a folder. But since I still have "Open in Opera" checked, if I click on a link to a JPEG it still opens. So no, you don't have to set Opera to always save files to use that suggestion - but I can't guarantee it would work with all other options
Then I guess a suggestion would be to make this also possible on a site basis. So whenever I download files from www.download.com they all go to the specific directory.. and perhaps into a directory structure depending on their filetype inside the download.com directory.
