I find these types of posts kind of interesting - just like those ones you see where some firm offers to submit you to 10,000 search engines for 19.99 per month.
That is because, while this is an impressive list, how long will it take you to submit these articles to all these sites?
Why would you want to submit all those articles to all those sites?
OK, I know the answer is link building but come on, there are easier ways.
For one, you only really need to submit to at most 10 article sites - a little research will show you that the top 5 or 10 article sites get between 80% and 90% of the article traffic.
Not to mention that there are really only 3 or 4 that have the authority status engines like Google like. If a site isn't an authority then the link doesn't have the value. It is as simple as that.
So how do you tell if a site is authoritative? Simple, install the Google toolbar and enable the PageRank feature. Now I know people will tell you that the value in the toolbar is not accurate, which is true, but it is a good indicator.
So let's look at a couple of these sites to see how authoritative they are:
Articlebase.com has a home page PR of 4 - not bad, but that means articles are probably in the low 1-2 range which means your site likely won't benefit from a link from this site for 6-12 months.
Boazepublishing also a 4 - same rule applies.
Exinearticles - home page of 6 - now we're getting somewhere - this is an authority site.
Goarticles - also a 6 - another worthwhile submission.
Do you see what I'm getting at here? Don't just assume you must submit to hundreds of sites. Instead, take a little time to find the few good ones and submit to those. Of course if you have time, submit to more but consider what the return will be to the time you spend. |
