The placenta is shared based on the types of fertilization of eggs. As you are aware that the eggs are split in certain period if it take four days once fertilization than twins has two placenta if zygote split after some time the placenta will be same.

In first case the baby share one inner and outer sac while in second case one outer sac. And two inner sac.

If zygote developed after twelve days than the baby share one inner sac. It is important to understand about the sharing of placenta to get the idea about the babies sharing of placenta. You can see all these things in the sono-graphy. It is essential to understand the development of the child in the placenta.
