The principal regulations that affect BPOs are FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) , HIPAA (Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), Sarbanes-Oxley Act, GLBA (Gramm Leach Bliley Act), UK Data Protection Act, and the US-EU Safe Harbour Agreement.
