If you don't know what a Commodore64 is then odds are you were born after 1980. If you were born after 1980 and know what it is, then you can safely call yourself a GEEK! http://rolldamage.com/special/forum/viewtopic.php?t=262
In any event the C64 was a computer in a keyboard that you hooked up to your tv. It had a whoping 64k RAM and a 5.25" floppy drive. Primarely sold as a game machine, it was better then the Atari 2600 because you could save games and therefore play things with more depth to them. Anyhow its also the first computer I ever owned and cut my teeth programing on it.
I've recently downloaded a commodore 64 emulator and a few games and I love it! I got the emulator here: http://www.viceteam.org/
Some games I found were: Bruce Lee, Karateka, Defender of the Crown, Pirates!, Summer Games, Blue Max and Aztec Challenge. All these games are classic Commodore games that will always be great even though some of the graphics are, shall we say, sub-standard by todays standards. Anyway if you do some google-ing you can find loads more of them for free!
One of the things I find funny that I didn't remember is that apparently, the C64 couldn't play a musical score while game play was occurring. What do you want for 64K memory?!
Anyway these are fun games and a real blast from the past. Plus if you have young kids of your own, like I do, it is an easy (and free) way to get them playing some games you enjoy too! _________________ -----
