the new bankruptcy law took effect Oct. 17, 2005. the law sucks if you need to file for bankruptcy now. it makes it much harder to prove you need to be freed of your debt obligations. i'd talk to an attorney if i were you. get a good bankruptcy attorney that can help you file and prove you need it. the worst part is, they may make you spend money to go through a credit counseling class. how are you supposed to pay for the class if you're bankrupt??? our genius lawmakers at work
