Generally yoga can benefit a lot for both mind and body. The arthritis is caused by mind (psychological and physical problem. Performing yoga includes a lot of stretching and this is generally beneficial. It is usually done slowly and is therefore probably safe. There are certain conditions in which it may be ill advised.

Various Asanas like Pavanamuktasana, Tadagasana, Makarasana, Swastikasana, Januhastasana, Hastashirasana, Ekpadsahajhasta Bhujangasana, Dwipadsahajhasta Bhujangasana, Veerasana, Trikonasana, Vrikshasana are very much helpful for the different types of arthritis. It is recommended that while performing the asana steady and controlled movements are especially recommended. It is not advisable to maintain the asanas for long.

Yoga alonwith the pranayama can also give enough relief to the arthritis if you perform it regularly. The massage therapy can also give benefits in arthritis.
