The therapy of syndrome of carpal tunnel syndrome can be preserving or surgical. According to indications' of the American academy of neurology (AAN) the preserving treatment must be tried if there is no deficit of force or sensitivity or anomalies serious in tests of EMG/ENG. It is important, however not to operate the late patient too much, since the results can be permanent. Patients in the preserving therapy must be checked.

To be useful itself with ultrasounds, the ionophoresis, the laser, which can improve the symptoms but do not act on the cause of the syndrome, non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs have the rare effect, drugs steroids have an effectiveness limited in time: effective infiltrations on the symptoms but with two side effects damage proven with fibrotic of the nerve and the risk which the patient defers the operation for too long with permanent results. The splints of wrist are effective but tolerated nongood, usually used the night only and thus do not have any effect on the cause of the syndrome. It is one of the important ways to get the proper treatment to get diagnoses the carpal tunnel syndrome.
