The trans Fat is made with the help of vegetable oil and hydrogen. The process of adding hydrogen in the vegetable oil is called hydrogenation process. Trans fat can be found in crackers, cookies, snack foods, vegetable shortenings, some margarines and foods fried with the help of hydrogenated oils.

The majority of trans fat is made when food manufacturers change the liquid oils into solid fats. The trans fat is found in dairy products, meat, and animal-based foods. Trans fat contains saturated fat and dietary cholesterol, raises the LDL cholesterol.
