Mediterranean diet consists of a high consumption of vegetables, fruit, bread and cereals, olive oil and moderate intake of fish. Foods are low in saturated fat, high in monounsaturated fat and dietary fiber cuisine is heart healthy and seems to reduce cancer risk. The Mediterranean diet is for health benefits only not for a weight loss. The Mediterranian diet sees these foods as being counter- balanced by the numerous other low calorie/high fibre foods in the diet.

You get the best of both worlds by eating a diet consisting of flavourful healthy foods with a moderate amount of calories.

Select Fat Free or Cholesterol Free labeling is idea products for you. Many of these items are made with hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils and they have "empty calories" that can raise blood triglyceride levels.
