The surgery is the last resort of the arthritis if drugs and other therapy are not affected. In case of cervical arthritis, when the condition is severe the doctor suggest the surgery. Once X-ray, CT scan and MRI perform and doctor suggest the surgery.

It is essential to perform the surgery of cervical arthritis carefully; if it is successful the improvement is seen 60-80 percent of the time. It depends on the age and fitness of the patients, if patients in the 40-50 year age group than result may be good. In case the age is over fifty than there are less chances to produce significant improvement after surgery.
