Mediterranean diet consists of a high consumption of vegetables, fruit, bread and cereals, olive oil and moderate intake of fish. Foods are low in saturated fat, high in monounsaturated fat and dietary fiber cuisine is heart healthy and seems to reduce cancer risk. The Mediterranean diet is for health benefits only not for a weight loss.

While eating healthily is the main factor associated with the Mediterranean diet, there are many advantages of the meridian diet so more and more people are join in the group.
