It is essential to get the treatment of the gestational diabetes on time. If it is not treated on time or not control on time than gestational diabetes can affect your new borne baby. If you have gestational diabetes, than pancreas produce more insulin, but it does not reduce the blood glucose. Insulin is not able to crosses the placenta in that case the additional blood glucose goes into the placenta that will resulting into the high blood sugar in the baby as a result the pancreas of the baby get more insulin to get rid of the blood glucose. As blood glucose increases than the baby get fat and that will resulting into the macrosomia.
The macrosomia is developed in the new borne baby where the additional glucose can lead to increase the body fat of the baby. This has a sever affect on the pancreas because it produces more insulin. As a result it faces lower the blood sugar level and as a result of it the new born baby faces breathing problem and also leads to types II diabetes.
