The people need to get enough iron through a regular diet that has from iron-rich foods. Some people don't get enough iron: Teenage girls/women of childbearing age who have heavy menstrual losses need more iron than the others.

The women are facing the iron deficiency periodically. If the tests show that the body isn't getting enough iron, it is necessary to take iron from the iron supplements as prescribed by the doctor.

During the pregnancy time the health care providers prescribe iron supplements during pregnancy because many pregnant women don't get enough iron. The pregnant women should eat the iron rich foods like meat, fish and poultry it is known as heme iron while dietary iron from plant sources, called non-heme iron, found in beans, spinach and peas and other green leafy vegetables, potatoes, and whole-grain and iron-fortified cereal.
