Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune inflammatory disease differentiates from other arthritis. Inflammation from RA causes pain, stiffness, swelling, warmth, redness, loss of function in joints. RA affects the wrist and many of the hand joints, but usually not the joints that are closest to the fingernails, the elbows, shoulders, neck, jaw, hips, knees, ankles, and feet. RA is often associated with prolonged morning stiffness and fatigue later in the day.

You are surprise to know that the immune system are the major cause of RA because it plays a major role in development of joint inflammation and damage, fatigue, and the feeling that you have a chronic viral illness. The immune system produce the body-protecting cells and antibodies. In normal people, these help to fight off invading infectious agents.
