In America, low-calorie sweeteners are very famous. The research said that the average 180 million American adults consume beverages. The low-calorie food offers a sweet taste without the calories or carbohydrates that come with sugar and other caloric sweeteners. Some low-calorie sweeteners, such as aspartame, are nutritive but are low in calories because of their intense sweetness.

Many non-nutritive sweeteners, such as saccharin, are non-caloric because they are not metabolized and pass through the body unchanged. Currently, aspartame, saccharin, acesulfame potassium and sucralose are the only available low-calorie sweeteners in the United States.

There are other alternatives like sugar-free and light products that are in such great demand. In the USA, as per national consumer survey the consumption of low-calorie foods and beverages at 18-year age has doubled in the past decade. This increasing interest in a health-conscious lifestyle.
