The 5 A Day national program is design with an aim to give better nutritional value to Americans. The program is design in such a way that it covers all important fruits and vegetables in 5 A Day national program. The colour group is selected on the basis of their relevance like if you select the green colours that are beneficial in circulatory system of the body. The green food contains leaf, kale, spinach, cabbage and sprouts, romaine lettuce etc.

You can get vitamins, B-complex vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and other nutrition as well as fiber from the green vegetables. The main benefits of the green vegetables id it improve the circulatory system in the body. The phytochemicals in the green vegetables has play as an antioxidant the Green foods are especially good for the circulatory system. Phytochemicals in found in green fruits and vegetables are sulforaphane and indoles that works as anti-cancer compounds. Apart from that fiber found in green vegetables are low-fat diets that reduce the body weight and increase the health.
