It is most essential to provide valid contact information to your registrar accredited by ICANN, the governing body for domain names. It is used for Registrant, Technical, Billing, and Administrative purposes. If you give false information, your domain name will be cancelled.

Your contact information is public and is made available through the “Whois” databases of most Registrars.

If you do not want to publish information available to public than on request, the registrar can help to protect your privacy.
