The basic difference is that the Cheap SSL certificates secure a single domain name while the Cheap Wildcard SSL certificates secure multiple sub-domains of a single domain name.
When generating a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) for a Wildcard certificate, please ensure that you need to add an asterisk on the left side of the Common Name. This will secures all sub-domains of the domain defined as the Common Name.
