only ticketed passengers are allowed past security to the gate area

I noticed that someone in another thread mentioned that since May they have noticed no backups or anything as it related to, I believe it wat Atlanta.
I have noticed in my travels that at least as far as the places I have been, I indeed notice that in a lot of cases the security lines are shorter, maybe the feds are finally starting to get their heads out of their a*ses and starting to get somethings right?, hmmm skeptical.gif , whatever it is I wonder if anyone else has noticed this trend also? .

I am not taking into account of course some of the security foul ups that are being allowed to continue, you know, things like unplugged detectors, people getting access into areas that should have long ago been secure nonono2.gif .

Another thing I have noticed here at my home airport is that prior to Sept 11th, parking was a disaster area in and of itself, the garages would fill up by 9am images/smiles/icon_mad.gif . Since Sept 11th except for around the holidays of course there seem to be empty parking spots all over, one of my theorys on this is that since only ticketed passengers are allowed past security to the gate area, people realizing that they can no longer see people off at the gate or meet them as they get off the plane, are just dropping people off or meeting them at the curb, but it is a guess.

Any theories or feelings on these two matters?

I noticed myself that [b:f65dde4147]EWR[/b:f65dde4147] and [b:f65dde4147]LGA [/b:f65dde4147]have not been quite the traffic nightmares that they were before 9/11. I was at[b:f65dde4147] LGA [/b:f65dde4147]in November and it was almost pleasant. [b:f65dde4147]EWR[/b:f65dde4147] last month was certainly more free flowing that it used to be. As well as fewer friends and relatives, I suspect more passengers are using public transport to get to airports, while I suppose passenger numbers, though picking up, are still down 10 to 15%.
